1st Nighter Camping of 2008

Ok, so the cub Scouts got really smart this year and decided to have the 1st nighter as INDOOR camping. Which was a MUCH smarter idea than last year, since we live in South Florida and it is hotter than h**l, especially in a tent, LOL!! (As you can tell last year's camping trip was not a hit with us, since it was very hot, then poured rain all night long, and with the humidity inside the tent from the puddle I was laying in, I couldn't breathe, LOL)

So when they said it was gong to be inside I was ecstatic!!! It was inside the Fort Lauderdale Science museum and it was AWESOME!!!! We got there on Friday night, set up our sleeping bags and cots and after a quick parent orientation they served us pizza and soda. Then it was off to do the activities. Here are some pictures to describe our night............

Here is Zack and his buddy (Danny) that he was paired up with for the night. Not to leave each other's side and they did really good at staying together. Here they are getting to pet a bearded dragon. Just what boy's love!!!
Now getting to touch a baby american alligator.

This was the morning after. We had to out the door at 8am, the boys were a little tired from a busy night
Pretending to be in space........................
Looking at all the other creatures and this giant tortuouise!!
they got a lesson on how our climates our changing and affecting our earth.
Showing off their shark tooth beaded necklaces they made.
A group picture........ there was 3 different groups of boys, but this is the one Zackery was in.

Zack climbing on some palm tree climby thing, LOL Having a blast and dong what boys love to do......climb on things.
As you can see, we had a great time!!

How fun candy, that sure beat camping in the rain any old day. Zack sure is getting big and is such a handsome little boy. I think its awesome you have in enrolled in cub scouts. what a great way for him to meet good kids and gain a love and passion for the outdoors that you have from your family. That palm tree climbing thing looks like fun I wanna go. give the kids a hug for me and tell Zack hi and we're glad he had a good time.
