Halloween '08

Zack and Raven had lots of fun Trick or Treating and got lots of candy, of course. Raven is a witch and loved having orange hair. LOL!! and Zack was a werewolf. We got a late start because of the rain but it turned out to be a beautiful night once the rain stopped. We took Teka (our dog) with us around the neighborhood too. She loved gonig on such a big walk. The kids are already talking about what they want to be next year. LOL!

Halloween at Applebee's

We had a lot of fun at work on Friday, as you can see!! It was a little weird trying to do our job in these costumes but it was a lot of fun and the customers LOVED it!! I had a huge turnout at my bar that day because I had been telling people for a couple of weeks that we were all dressing up and I had candy and goodies for them. It was great! Here is "Blonde Snow White" aka my awesome friend Donna!

This is my friend Yadi as a fun sexy pirate! She had feathers for eyelashes. She looked AWESOME!

This is Cindy (Catgirl) and Sam (well, let's just say that her name tag said "Christy Cremes") these girls are the night time bartenders. I am always happy to see them because it means I get to go home soon. :)
We had a lot of fun!

Career Day at school

Today is career day for my kids at school. they both wanted to be Polics Officers. Grandma found the most adorable matching police outfits. they were so excited today to wear their outfits and got SO many compliments as we walked into school today. Even the SRO (School Resource Officer, which is a Coral Springs Police officer) gave them a salute as they walked in. It was adorable and they were all smiles. Here they are as we headed out the door this morning.

Family Day

In the beginning of October we had a much needed family day and went to Jupiter Lighthouse and the beach. It was about 1 1/2 hours away from home. It was a nice drive and getaway. I am still learning this blogging thing so the pictures are not in order. Keri I will need your help with that....LOL!! Anyway here are the kids at the beach in Jupiter at a place called Blowing Rocks. It was very pretty.

Zack and Mike walking back from the lighthouse. A precious moment!!!

Here is the very tight and close-spaced stairwell. There were 97 stairs climb!! Boy were we out of breath afterwards!! LOL!

Here is Mike sitting on a bench near the red brick walkway. He didn't go into the actual lighthouse because it was too tall and close-spaced. We had fun waving to him up from the top of the lighthouse. Although he was really freaking out with us way up so high and near the edge.
Here is Zack and Raven near one of the portholes of the lighthouse. It was a little freaky being up so high. I had to really hang on as I leaned back to snap this picture.
Here is the same picture but facing the view instead of the lighthouse. As you can see from their faces they were a little scared too. You can't see in the picture but they were clinging to me!!!!
The light fixture that still works even though very old!!

Inside the lighthouse, we were taking a break from the 97 stairs we had to climb!!

The sign says it all!!!! :)

walking back from the tour
This beautiful tree was at the base of the lighthouse. It was an awesome family day!!

Hayride/Campfire

Last night we went to a hayride and campfire with s'mores. I forgot my camera unfortunately but I was able to get this one with my cell phone. Isn't technology amazing!! Here is Raven roasting her marshmallows for the s'mores. After we enjoyed the s'mores and the campfire we stood in line for the hayride. it took about 40 minutes because there was a lot of poeple. It was a lot of fun though and they took us all around Tradewinds Park.

1st Nighter Camping of 2008

Ok, so the cub Scouts got really smart this year and decided to have the 1st nighter as INDOOR camping. Which was a MUCH smarter idea than last year, since we live in South Florida and it is hotter than h**l, especially in a tent, LOL!! (As you can tell last year's camping trip was not a hit with us, since it was very hot, then poured rain all night long, and with the humidity inside the tent from the puddle I was laying in, I couldn't breathe, LOL)

So when they said it was gong to be inside I was ecstatic!!! It was inside the Fort Lauderdale Science museum and it was AWESOME!!!! We got there on Friday night, set up our sleeping bags and cots and after a quick parent orientation they served us pizza and soda. Then it was off to do the activities. Here are some pictures to describe our night............

Here is Zack and his buddy (Danny) that he was paired up with for the night. Not to leave each other's side and they did really good at staying together. Here they are getting to pet a bearded dragon. Just what boy's love!!!
Now getting to touch a baby american alligator.

This was the morning after. We had to out the door at 8am, the boys were a little tired from a busy night
Pretending to be in space........................
Looking at all the other creatures and this giant tortuouise!!
they got a lesson on how our climates our changing and affecting our earth.
Showing off their shark tooth beaded necklaces they made.
A group picture........ there was 3 different groups of boys, but this is the one Zackery was in.

Zack climbing on some palm tree climby thing, LOL Having a blast and dong what boys love to do......climb on things.
As you can see, we had a great time!!

Catching a Moment

Here is Zackery sleeping with our new puppy. I took a moment to grab the camera and keep the memory forever. He really wanted to sleep with her that night and it was the cutest thing when I went in later on to check on them.

1st Week of School

This week the kids started school. They started 2 days late due to Tropical Storm Fay.They had a great first day. I took them to school for the 2nd day and then I got a call from the nurse at school that Zack has pink eye and school policy is that they can not come back to school until the doc gives the ok. So he can't go back to school until Monday. So for the 1st week of school Zack made it 1 day, LOL!!!! Raven really likes her class and her teacher. She has made some new friends already and she has a lot of friends in her class that she already knows. I can't believe she is in 3rd grade already. She is growing up WAY too fast!!

Our New Puppy

Here is our new Sheltie puppy. Her name is Teka, she is about 4 months old and we have had about a month. She is a great dog for the kids. When she is full-grown and all of her fur coat comes in, she will look like a mini Lassie. The kids are SOOOO excited to finally have a dog. They, mostly Raven, have been asking for several years. I am glad we waited until now though because they are old enough now to help with her care. She is a lot of work right now because of being a puppy, especially with the chewing and getting into stuff. It's like having a toddler again. LOL! But I know that will pass. She is smart and learns fast.
